As a quilter or sewer you are probably familiar with the term “Christmas In July”. This is the time of year that us creative types must start on our special homemade gifts if they are to make it under the tree in time for the holiday.
However it can be difficult to get into the Christmas spirit during the long, hot, lazy days of summer while we are at the beach soaking up the sunshine, sipping iced tea and roasting marshmallows on the campfire. To help shift our mood to a more festive one the quilt shops elves get busy lining the fabric shelves with holiday themed fabrics to inspire us with yuletide cheer.
We commonly see winter landscapes,
warm and inviting prints,
and an abundance of pointsettias and snowflakes.
Of course there is always a snowman or two…
and then we find this…
I’m not sure what category this fits into but stay tuned to see what we do with it!
