The View From Bunny Hill

entry-logo

New-Dolley-Pattern-Cover-web-232x300What’s the view from Bunny Hill?  What comes to mind for me is a peaceful valley filled with lots of bunny helpers creating sophisticated, timeless, heirloom treasures.  Well that statement is half true.  Anne Sutton, the owner and designer of Bunny Hill Designs is the matriarch of countless beautiful heirloom quilts that are treasured by all who own them.  Her designs cover a full spectrum to quench any quilter’s pallet.  Whether it be traditional country, vintage, holiday or “shabby chic”, her unique combinations of small piecework applique and stitchery mingled with delicate pastel shades of blue, pink and greens create whimsicle artwork to be enjoyed for a lifetime.  Click Here to view a selection of Bunny HIll Designs products available from our store.

Block-Three-Blog-150x150Anne started her business 10 years ago in 2004.  Her first applique block of the month was “Catch A Christmas Star” and believe it or not the pattern is still available.  The quilt that she is most known for, and the one that really launched her career, was “Rabbits Prefer Chococlate”.  “Those little bunnies were really magical and dear to my heart”, Anne says.  In fact it was her antique chocolate mould collection which was the inspriation for that quilt.  Anne states that her passion is for appliqué with the needle turn applique technique.  Today she uses the Spray Starch method combined with machine applique.

Bunny-Hill-computerAnne works out of a 400 sq ft. studio in her home, along with her assistant Kim and her husband Ross (shipping).  Her two dogs named Chelsea and Milkshake spend the day with her in the studio and are a big part of her life.  Designing is Anne’s second career, and the one she loves most. Her first career was an event planner for a Four Star hotel.  Anne says, “After years of planning weddings, business meetings and social events I can now spend my time planning quilts! I feel so fortunate”.  For more information about Anne and Bunny Hill Designs, visit their website at  www.bunnyhilldesigns.com
